Updates?

Yeah I am lazy.

Not really been doing lots of cool shit, just been neglecting other things ... like this blog and podcast blog, and the podcast. Summer is upon us and I have been outside enjoying it. I am sure I'll dive back int the internet shit when it starts to get chilly again!

Cliffhanger

Brady Justin and I went on a day trip to the Maquoketa Caves State Park in Iowa Friday. After about 3 hours of hiking and exploring, we came across the valley over look. It was a gazebo with a gnarly old pine that hung right off the 30 to 40 foot cliff. The only sane thing to do was hang off the tree right over the drop.

Tested!

I tested my second pneumatic cannon this weekend. It's made out of PVC, has a heavily modified sprinkler system diaphragm valve, and a breech loading feature. The barrel is 1" PVC, 38" long and the air chamber is 2" PVC, 8" long. The gun is fueled by a 20oz. CO2 bottle (just like on a paintball gun) and a pressure regulator to keep it in safe operating ranges.

I still have to finish the gun stock/handle, and paint it up, but I was just checking to make sure it worked.

Enjoy the video!

Awkward

I was just trying to log into my 'Steam Community' pages for all of my Valve games such as "Teams Fortress 2" and "Left 4 Dead."

I typed in the incorrect password and it gave me most awkward notice I have ever seen. "Error validating humanity." Wow.

Resurrecting The Champ

My old PC, the one I was using as my media PC, has been resurrected from the grave on three separate occasions. I am afraid he is too far gone now and have sent him to his final resting place.

About 5 years ago, I bought the PC from New Egg as a "Bare Bones" LAN gaming rig. I built it scratch from the ground up. CPU, power supply, cooler, hard drives, case, drives, video card, the whole works I pieced together myself. It was my first build for a PC and I am sure I made quite a few mistakes. Over the years I added some more parts and upgraded as technology advanced, but it hung in there.

The first time it died, I spent a few hours tinkering and found a stick of RAM went bad, no big deal, pulled the RAM, ordered some more and along he went.

The second time it died, it was all my fault. I added some more hardware and failed to upgrade my power supply. After a while, it just took a shit. So I went to Staples and bought a new one, and along he went.

The third time the champ died, I could not figure out what the hell was wrong. After a few weeks without a PC I got fed up and bought a new one. I was due anyway, it had been four years since I got this one. PC's performance was more advanced and Vista was out now.

I never threw out the old beast, it just slumbered for a year in a box, waiting. One day after the holidays I got a hair up my ass to work on all the old PC's I had lying around that had been gifted to me from family and friends. I wanted to see if I could retrieve any of my old data from the beast. I put the hard drive in another PC that worked as a slave drive. I was amazed that after doing a check disk scan, a few bad sectors were repaired. I put everything back together, and he fired right up!

I stuck him next to my media center and hooked it up to my TV and you can see in my You Tube video I was running XP on my TV. About 2 weeks ago I woke up and it was dead again.

I have tried ever trick in the book that I can think of and have come to the conclusion that the motherboard is toasted. So I disassembled all the hardware, kept anything that might be useful later (like my hard drives) and dumped the rest.

Thanks for hanging in there buddy. I am gonna miss you.

Byaaaar? (Sad Pirate)

Pirate Bay guys got screwed.

Oh well, you can still get tasty torrents. As it says on their homepage, "Don't worry - we're from the internets. It's going to be alright. :-)"

Projects and postings!

I have been neglecting my Vlog, Blog, and the BB+B site a bit too much lately. I have been to preoccupied with projects and tasks. I hope the spree of posts I just did makes up for it.

Here are some of the stuff I still have on my to-do list that are in progress:

  • Photograph and video my spud gun in action!

  • Build a custom subwoofer enclosure for my truck.

  • Install said enclosure, sub, amp, and wire that puppy up.

  • Replace the brakes on the Ranger, she's a squeakin'.

  • Upgrade my media PC. That guy needs some RAM bad. A nice video card with a DVI out would be swell since I can get a DVI to HDMI cable and get rid of that shitty S-Video cord. Wireless keyboard mouse are on deck too.

  • Tint the windows in the Ranger

  • Modify the Compaq PC that Mom and Dad ditched. I have some evil plans for it, you'll see!

  • Plan some super-cool activities for B-Rad, J-Bone and I to do when the visit in May.

  • Continue my progress on my "Ultra Top Secret, Totally Awesome Project." I am making it as perfect as I can. I want other nerds and aficionados to drool over it.

The death of the Compact Disc

All of my music is in digital format these days. I am tired of burning discs so I can listen to them in my truck. Not to mention audio books usually don't all fit on one CD.

Thursday I took all my CDs out of my truck and filed them in the closet with the other crap I don't use. I bought a new stereo and installed it.

I got the Sony Xplod CDX-GT630UI which has the convenient feature of a from side USB port. I just plug my USB thumb drive into my PC, load it until it bursts with audio files and plug the little Betty in the head unit. Shazzam! No more skipping when flying over railroad tracks. No more scratched discs. No more discs flying out of the visor holder. Simplicity is wonderful.

Download these now.

My neighbor Chad picked up a shiny new PC on Friday and asked me to hook him up with some good programs.

I sat down to make a list of my must-have PC software that some of you should check out. Not to mention they are all free! They will work with both Windows XP and Windows Vista, I have tested them all extensively on both operating systems. As to OS X, not to certain there. But if someone wants to send me a free Mac, I'll try them out!

  • Mozilla Firefox. Because Internet Explorer was shit back in XP Service Pack 1 and I have been loyal ever since. Be sure to click the "Tools" menu and go to "Add-ons" to customize your browser as you see fit, this is what make Mozilla the better choice in my opinion. They have add-ons for everything! My personal favorites are; Adblock Plus like it says block ads, AnyColor lets you make your browser look exactly the way you want to, AVG Safe Search integrates with search engines to protect you from clicking evil links, and Ghostery tells you what websites are tracking your movements.

  • AVG Anti-Virus Free. I relied on this software for years and it has always performed. I have it on 3 of my current PC's (My main use Dell, my media PC and the one I plan on modding) and my parents new laptop. You can set auto-updates and auto-scanning for no hassle virus protection.

  • CCleaner. This tiny little program is one of my new favorites! It helps to clear out of all the shit and clutter in you PC. It removes old and unused files and clears away traces of your online history.

  • iTunes. I used to be a big fan of Winamp, and gave B-Rad shit for using iTunes, but the program is so damn good. Plus if you have an iPod, you have to use it anyway. It makes burning CDs a snap, keeps my music organized and the streaming radio pumped through my media PC onto my home theater sounds amazing.

  • VLC Media Player. This tiny little guy will play pretty much any audio or video file format known to man. If Microsoft did not make the Vista Media Player so much better, I would still be religiously using this. I do on occasion find a file that Media Player can't handle, so VLC is still on deck.

Now if you have a brand new PC out of the box, also be sure to get any trial or demo software or crap you plan on never using off there as soon as you can. It's just wasting your precious space.

Emergency Battery Charger

I was tinkering in the workshop and mashed together a little toy for my cellphone. In the random chance event that I have not charged my phone in a few days, no where near an outlet in the middle of nowhere and desperately need to make a call with a dead battery ... I made a portable battery charger.

If you refer to the really large image to the left (Click it goober) you will see what you need, so lets get started on how I made it.

:: Steps ::

1. Cut the purchased battery charger about 1 inch away from plug that goes into your phone, and strip back the strain relief and the two wires.

2. Cut and strip your 9V battery connector.

3. Trim your breadboard down to fit.

4. Solder the voltage regulator, connector, and plug together.

5. Make it fit in the tin.

Talk about great instructions, huh? Figure it out yourself!

I tested this several times and it really does work. I referred to my wall outlet charger and found that the enV2 needs a signal of 5VDC at .7A to charge. The 9V battery already sends out approximately .7A, so you just needs to step down the 9V to 5V.

This was any easy little project and price was around 10 bucks for everything EXCEPT the charger. Verizon is really fucking proud of it and charged me 30 bucks. Oh well, it was all just the fun of building it anyway.

Building

I have been very preoccupied these last few weeks constructing some miscellaneous gadgets and whirligigs.

I made a portable battery back-up for my cell phone out of a Altoid's Smalls tin, then I built a pneumatic potato gun. Right now I am working on a huge project that I will not spoil right now. If I take my time and do it right, it will be amazing.

Stay tuned for some pictures and videos of the before mentioned items (If I get around to it.)

On the Rain-Slick Precipice of Darkness

I have been playing some new games over the weekend. I downloaded episode one and two of "On the Rain-Slick Precipice of Darkness" through Steam. They have turned out to be some the funniest and enjoyable games I have played since "World of Goo!"

The game is set in New Arcadia in 1922, you join the ranks of the Startling Development detective agency when a giant robot smashes your house. You battle robots, mimes, barber shop quartets, and clowns on your way to the end, upgrading weapons and leveling the whole time.

No Homo

I just read all the Twilight books these past two weeks. Yeah, call me gay if you want, but they were ok. The target audience is still young adult girls but it had a decent story.

I saw the movie a few weeks ago and was interested enough to inspect the first book. I was impressed with Stephanie Meyer's work and went through the other three.

I will say that she uses the word chagrin WAY too many times. For a word that never comes up in common dialect of an 18 year old girl, she used it over thirty times at least.

To Mom and Angela: You should read the books, I bet you would enjoy them too.

Beer!

My favorite liquor store is closing. I went in today to see what kind of deals they had and bought some Rogue Brewery bottles to keep as collectibles. They also had a few styles I have never seen before and thought I would try them. Don't overlook the the Dead Guy Growler at the end!

Techno Geekness

So I finally broke down and started tinkering with all the PC's I had in my apartment last night.

The first one to conquer was my parents discarded Compaq. It was infested with some pretty nasty Mal-ware, but after about an hour of scanning and deleting, she was ready to roll.

Next one was my old PC (the one before my current) that I built from the ground up has been out of commission for quite some time. I had no idea what was wrong with it, but I assumed that the hard drive was corrupt. So I took the drive out, set the jumper to slave and pig-tailed it onto the newly cleaned Compaq. During start up, XP ran a chkdsk on it and fixed the bad sectors. I plugged it back into it's original home and she fired right up.

The good thing about getting my old PC working, it has an ATI All in Wonder video card so I can use it as a media PC. I have it hooked up to my 46" LCD TV right now. Video looks really good on it. Sadly the audio needs some tweaking before I can get it working. I have to buy a sound card with optical output to hook up to a surround sound system which I have yet to buy also. I'll buy it someday.

I had to format that piece of shit external hard drive too. After a format and scan, it seems to be working fine for now. I am not very trusting of it though after it destroyed all data. Fool me once ....

I got the influenzas and I coughin' on your stuffs

So Sunday night, all was great. I went to sleep at about 1am, then woke up at 5am Monday morning with a scratchy throat. Couldn't go back to sleep so I made breakfast and chilled at the PC for a few hours. By Noon, the throat was full blown sore as hell and my body started feeling like an old man. I knew the crap had landed. By 10:00pm I had the chills that damn near shook my teeth out... with my heat blasting and 3 covers on. Tuesday morning I took my temperature, I was rocking 102 degrees ... dang. No worky for Tony. Needless to say, my boss was pissed, but he was lucky I showed up today. My fever broke in the night but I am still sick as hell. I was on so much Day Quill and Theraflu it seriously felt like I was stoned and buzzing drunk. On top of that, everything went against us today, I didn't even get a lunch. I feel worse now then I did when I was fevered. One of my worst days ever.... I begged for blunt force trauma to the face.

Stuff and things

My anger has passed, I never stay angry very long anyway. So I figured I better return this blog to some good spirited topics, since the last two I posted were not very positive.

It still amuses me how the simple things often turn out to be the best, let me explain. I have been musing about a coffee maker for months, since before Christmas. There was this fancy, super-duper double coffee machine that did espresso and coffee that was pretty pricey. Anyway I was looking at it again one day, weighing the options in my head weather to fork over the cash or not. Out of the corner of my
eye, I saw a lone french press coffee maker. I grabbed that little beauty right up. It was cheap and I make tea, coffee and Yerba Mate in it almost every day. Sure glad I didn't buy that big coffee maker!

Have you seen or heard about that show on Fox called "The Legend of the Seeker?" Well don't bother, the show sucks anyway. But I was intrigued enough to buy the first book that the show was based off of. The book is entitled "The Wizard's First Rule" by Terry Goodkind and is the first of 11 books in the series "Sword of Truth." I am almost done with the first installment, and I already bought the second.

Goodkind was not all that original in the grand scheme, its boy meets world and finds out he has powers and he is the only one that can stop the bad guy. Also there is a small cameo of a Smeagol-Gollum rip off, complete with broken English and need to steal what belongs to Richard, the lead.

But the book does have a refreshing, yet twisted take on the villain. Goodkind actually goes into detail about all the bad stuff he does. The villain, named Darken Rahl, enjoys killing people and torturing them. Rahl even practices a rare form of divination that uses the entrails of living humans to find answers. Yeah, Rahl is a sick puppy. But it adds some weight to the story, makes it suspenseful. Because you know if Richard get caught by Rahl, he won't die for a very long time.

Anger

I have not been full bore scream-worthy angry in a very long time. Today, right now now in fact, I am close to physically breaking items in my apartment. My hands are shaking and I feel the blood coursing in my neck...

I bought a 500GB external hard drive about a week ago from Best Buy. I transferred ALL of my extensive movie and music databases, my videos, my art, my photos ... everything to it.

The motherfucker is now corrupted and my PC won't recognize it. Hundreds of movies, gone. Weeks worth of music, gone. All of my art from this blog, my Youtube videos, the BB+B art, gone.

I seriously would kill small animals with my bare hands at this moment.

So I decided I could not continue to bash Facebook for being worthless if I had not tried it. So I signed up for it ... Guess what, I was right! It sucks.

Beer Bullshit + Brains

I am working a Scott and Justin on a new podcast called Beer Bullshit + Brains.

You can listen to a first test pod if you want but the mic levels are way off, and the freeware we used to record started adding static after a few minutes. The next one will be at a much more professional quality.

WARNING! This podcast contains some drinking and strong language, mostly from my mouth. My mother wants me to stop dropping the F-bomb so much, and I am trying my level best. Sorry mom.

Holiday

I am taking a quick vacation to my home town for a while and catch up with all my family and friends this season.

I am really eager to see Scott, I have not seen that guy in a few years, he lives in Houston now. Kevin is in Topeka, I have to make a trip up there to see him. J-Bone and I are gonna start brainstorming on some new projects together we can do over the internet, excited about that. Kenny, can't wait to hang with him and do some stupid stuff.

Anyway, I'll be sure to take lots of photos of the trip, stay tuned.

Have a good holiday season!

Housing

I got a notice from my landlord yesterday that said my lease was going to expire in a few months... I have lived here almost a year already, dang. Anyway, it stated that I needed to supply W-2 forms and proof of income and all that jazz because I live in a low income housing unit.

Yeah ... I can't stay here anymore. I was promoted and got two raises, not gonna be able make the low grade.

So I have two choices, find another apartment or by a house by February. I would really like to make that next step a be a home owner, but I am not sure if that is a good thing to do right now with all the bank going shit.

Any ideas?

Andy Sandburg, my kind of funny.

Saturday Night Live is getting funny again.

I think Andy is the main driving force behind it. His random music videos and off beat humor caters to me perfectly. Too bad I have to work when it's on.

Don't over look the cameo by Justin Timberlake in the video, he's the janitor.

Christmas Shopping

I am done! Ha ha! I always struggle thinking of gifts for my family. Even if they give me a list of things they want, I try not to follow it exactly, it takes all the surprise out of it. Yet I still doubt my guessed gifts, if they need them or want them. Clothing is the worst of all. I never know what size to get, women especially. Now that the buying is done, it's time for the wrapping. I just want to make sure my sister knows that I have another "theme" this year like I did last year. I am calling you out Angela. Which one of us is going to have the coolest wrapped gifts this year? I know with the kids and work you probably get little time to spend on wrapping, but I still challenge you!

Snowy inspiration

Our first snow the winter season hit us two days ago. I took a peek out of my window this afternoon and the light was just right. I had to take a few photos of the beautiful woods behind my apartment. Be sure to click on the "All Sizes" link above the photos to see a larger version.

I hope you enjoy them.

Tasty Turkey Day Treats

Since I am away from home this year, I had Thanksgiving over at my girlfriend's parents house. I didn't want to show up empty handed so I made some little apple and cherry tarts.

Here's the recipe which I nicked from Gregg Avedon's book, "Muscle Chow." I made some changes to it since I didn't have a pie pan, but I had some foil muffin sheets.

Ingredients:
8 sheets low-fat honey graham crackers, crushed into crumbs
2 cups quick oats
1 cup applesauce
2 teaspoons cinnamon
1 can no-sugar added apple fruit filling
1 can no-sugar added cherry fruit filling

How to make it:
Step 1: Preheat the oven to 350. In a large bowl, combine the cracker crumbs, oats, cinnamon, and applesauce. Mix it up real good.

Step 2: Spoon the mixture into 2 muffin pans. Use the back of a fork to evenly form miniature pie crusts in each cup.

Step 3: Bake for 15 minutes.

Step 4: Spoon the fruit filling into each cup. Bake for 30 minutes.

Step 5: Raise oven temperature to broil. Broil for 1 to 2 minutes, or until golden brown.

Step 6: Let tarts sit for 15 minutes. Use a fork to remove from the pan.

I think they came out pretty good! And they are darn tastey and not THAT bad for you.

Another new Gi

So when I started my jujitsu class I bought a green gi. It is a high quality Gameness pearl dark green gi, it cost me about $165 from the dojo. I am sure I could have found a cheaper one online, but I figured this guy makes his money doing this stuff, might as well buy from him.

So I learned that for belt testing, I am required to wear an all white gi. Great, so I need to buy another one. Lucky for me, this other new guy told me he bought a white Gameness, wore it twice then washed it and it shrunk too much to fit him. He said he would sell it to me for $60. Not a bad deal I think. At least I have a backup gi if my green gets torn and needs mending.

Christmas to me

I had to sit down the other night and decide what the essential elements of Christmas are to me. Now, most people on planet Earth will say "The celebration of the birth of Christ," or some jazz like that. Being atheist, it seems hypocritical that I still celebrate Christmas. Hence the soul searching.

I just sat down with my journal, a pen and started doodling and scratching words with no plan, just putting thoughts on paper.

It's not a revelation by any respects but I know why I still do deck my halls every year. It is because my family does, and it is the best time of year for us. We all gather at my folk's house on the eve, play games, laugh and have fun just being with each other. We still get together for other occasions, but Christmas just seems that much more special.

Neighbors

I didn't grow up in a household with yelling and fighting so it always peaks my interest when my neighbors fight.

The big fat black lady downstairs must have her man whipped hard. I heard her yelling at him today, "Holy shit, TURN THE HEAT OFF! You have it blasting in here! What the fuck is your problem?!" He responded with something too quite to make out through the floor.

Incidentally this is the same huge lady that came up and knocked on my door while I was assembling my new desk. "Do you need to make all that noise? It's right over my head!" Yes lady I knew this, but it was 6 o'clock at night and it was like 10 nails. I have to listen to you bitch to your man-boy everyday.

Leonard Crowl

I was just checking my e-mail and I received some terrible news. Leonard Crowl passed away.

I had the opportunity to work with Leonard at the newspaper for several years. In that time I got to know him just about as well as a co-worker can.

Leonard was a good man. I know people use that saying "good man" a lot, but it does him justice. He had his side-cocked grin on his face all the time, eager to greet you with a smile and hello in his booming voice. He always had time to listen to me even if he had to make time. He was never in a bad mood, but on occasion would blurt out, "Son of bitch!" when frustrated. His sense of humor was infectious and he would come back to the production department and regale us with tales and jokes daily. Yes, Leonard Crowl was a good man.

His family will probably not read this, they don't even know me, but I feel the light dimmer with his passing and I only worked with the man for 3 years and it has been a year since I saw him last. I can't imagine the loss and pain they feel today. Nothing I could say would matter, no condolences or cards sent.

If there is an after life, I hope Leonard is there and knows that the friends he made in this life will not easily forget him and wish that he has plenty of dark beer.

Long Journey

I mention this in passing to people that may not have known me for very long, but I don't go screaming it from the rafters either. I tend to shy away from bringing it up unless it has relevance in the conversation, but I want to write about the journey I started nearly 3 years ago.

I used to weight nearly 300 pounds. I was 24, obese and extremely unhappy.

All through high school I was heavy, sitting around 6 feet tall and 220 pounds with absolutely no muscle mass, pretty much just bone and fat. Every time I go home I see that graduation day photo my parents display proudly in the kitchen. I see my smile on my chubby face and wonder why I hated myself so much and why I still hate looking at those old photos.

But before I get too deep into the journey, I want to examine a characteristic that enabled me say it was OK to be unhealthy.

The most important thing that enabled my shitty lifestyle was that people liked me. I was very charismatic. Seriously, I have a hard time thinking of anyone that really hated me ... ever. I can read people really well and turn would-be agitators into allies. It was a survival instinct I adapted as a child to get people to stop tormenting me about my weight. My behavior would transition between different types of people. I was goofy with jocks, they liked the class clown that would make them laugh. I was polite and intelligent with my parents and family, they wanted a good son. I was loud and vulgar with people I worked with, they wanted the crazy guy to tell stories about. Hell, I could break it down to shifting personalities between individual people, but I will spare the readers. The point is, I was not one person that people liked, I was a lot of people in one large shell that hated himself.

With that craziness explored lets move on to after high school. I went to college for a while but I had little patience for it. I am pretty smart, smarter than most people I have met, but I lacked discipline. In college I actually had to try, instead I just gave up. I worked shitty jobs and made ends meet as my weight slowly grew.

Finally I got a break...I got a job doing what I thought I wanted to do for the rest of my life. I got a job at a local newspaper as a graphic designer. "Hooray! I get to sit at a computer all day and work my mind and create!" I thought I was taking a step in the right direction, getting a respectable career that my family would be proud of. I was not making minimum wage anymore, I worked at the same place my father did, they wouldn't think I was a fat screw up. Later I realized they never did think I was a screw up. They didn't care what I do for a living or how much money I make as long as I am happy.

Working at the newspaper combined with a poor diet of fast food influenced by an equally unhealthy roommate, and no exercise because of an addiction to World of Warcraft, my weight went to near 300 pounds. This was my lowest point in life so far, yet I could not see it. I thought I was doing great, aside from having a closet chalked full of size 44 jeans that I could barely fit into.

It took several events to make me see what I was letting myself become. Some I thought were good and some were Earth shattering bad at the time.

The first event was my roommate was moving away and I had no where to live. I had to move back in with my parents for several months. I really did like this guy, he was a good friend, but he had a terrible influence on me to be lazy, and to eat the most God awful shit. Burgers and fries and chips and cereal, whatever was easy.

The second was meeting my new co worker, Brady aka B-Rad, aka B-Radimus Prime. I worked with B-Rad for several months and we slowly became friends. He nudged me to get out and be active. He had an old weight bench in his shed and we would lift weights a few days here and there. Also he loved to go for jogs. He finally convinced me to go on one with him. I don't think I even made it a block before I had to stop. I realized then just how bad my body was. Thank you B-Rad.

Event three chronologically should be the first but in this story it happens after B-Rad. In my college days I worked with a guy at Wal-Mart named Kevin. Kevin was very charismatic just like me, but he was a physical fitness major at the University. He was always training and eating right. He would mention to me that I should try this exercise, or come to the gym with him. I did do it for a while, but I never saw any progress, so I quit. The best thing about Kevin, he never pushed the fact that I was unhealthy. He tried to help and saw I was not ready to take his advice. I am grateful that he never gave up on me. He is also to this day, one of my closest friends even though we have been separated for many years. About the time I started at the newspaper, Kevin graduated and moved away. We talked on the phone here and there, just bullshitting. During the B-Rad time of random jogging and free weight bumbling I mentioned to Kevin that I was trying to get fit but I didn't think I was going about it right. I was expecting the flood gates to open with years of knowledge that he had been wanting to share with me. Instead he gave me a simple answer. "Dude, that's great. You should check out this book 'Body For Life.'" That was pretty much all he said. Thank you Kevin.

Reading "Body for Life" was an event in itself. Extremely helpful book and I slowly started adapting it's principles into my daily life. I was living with B-Rad and his daughter now and was in a good environment to promote healthy living, responsibility, and discipline.

The final major event in my journey was one that I thought at the time was the end of my life. I was fired from my job at the newspaper. I had numerous indiscretions there in the past, what can I say I was loud and rowdy. One involved a DUI on my first week there, one involved some Nazi propaganda (IT WAS A JOKE!) but most involved me just being a dick. My bosses at the newspaper were more than fair, they let most of my shitty behavior slip. I thank them for putting up with me as long as they did, god knows how. But the hard fact is I deserved to be fired. I earned a swift kicked to the ass. But thankfully it got me away from the computer screen and made me grow up. Thank you Ray and Dallas for firing me.

Getting fired made me scrutinize myself even more. Not just my exterior and physical health which I was well under way to fixing. But also my inner self. I came to terms with how much of an immature jackass I was and how much I truly despised myself. I still struggle with it today, as I still struggle with being healthy.

I am proud to say that now I am the best person I have ever been, physically and mentally. I am at a decent 6 foot 2 inches and 185 pounds. I have gained an huge amount of muscle since I really had none when I began. I still have a little bit of a gut, but I am working on it. I go to the gym 3 days a week and I recently started jujitsu training 3 days a week.

I let myself eat a cookie or two from the work cafeteria or eat some fried chicken. I let slip a tongue lashing to people around me or make unfriendly remarks about someone. After doing so, I always feel worse, but at least I recognize the faults now. Granted, no one can be perfect, but I don't want to be the fat kid any more than I want to be the asshole.

Changed it again

Fuck it, I already quit playing Warhammer, so I changed the blog again. I like the look, pretty much the way it was before just with a new header.

Team Fortress 2

I am back to ol' TF2 again. I bounce between games like a crack whore between dealers. I love MMORPG's a lot, but sometimes all the quests and the unbalanced RVR and PVP play just makes me want to quit. WoW has no appeal to me anymore ... at all. WAR's RVR class mechanics are really making me second guess my classes. You can totally facefist some people but other classes you can fight someone 10 levels lower than you and they still beat you. Kinda fucked up in my opinion.

But I digress. Team Fortress 2 is simple. Shoot people in the fucking face and they die. If they shoot you first, get better.

New Computer Desk

I went shopping for a new computer desk on my birthday. I was really disappointed by the selections that furniture makers give consumers these days. After checking several stores I just went to Home Depot and bought a kitchen counter top and some heavy duty metal shelves and made my own. This bad boy is 8 feet long and the keyboard tray finally holds my giant teflon "mousepad."

Revamp

The blog was redesigned to reflect my new interest in Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning. I still have my World of Warcraft account, just not really playing it anymore.
